7-Inch Rules For Contact Measurement
7-inch / 180 mm aluminum rules help you reach the surfaces you need to compare. Read 0-360 degrees on the LCD; stated +/-0.3-degree accuracy is separate from 0.05-degree display resolution.

LX-DAF7 is a 7-inch / 180 mm aluminum digital angle finder for workshop setup and measuring angles between surfaces. Its pivoting rules carry imperial and metric markings, and the LCD displays angles across a 0-360-degree range.

HOLD freezes the displayed angle. A three-second HOLD/FLIP press flips the display for upside-down reading; the locking knob holds the rule position.

One 7-inch / 180 mm digital angle finder, zippered pouch and two supplied 3V CR2032 cells. Install one cell for operation.

Choose rule length for access and contact with your workpiece. Display resolution and measurement accuracy are different specifications.
| Job or requirement | Works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Miter saw setup | Yes, with rule contact | Seat the rules against the relevant surfaces; follow the saw instructions. |
| Table saw angle checks | Yes, where the rules fit | Check contact and zero before measuring; no magnetic-base claim is made. |
| Shelf alignment | Yes | Choose a rule length that reaches the surfaces being compared. |
| Inside and supplementary angles | Yes | REV displays 180 degrees minus the measured inside angle after zeroing. |
| Measuring a long distance | No substitute for a long tape | Rules are 7 inches / 180 mm; choose a tape for longer spans. |
| Applications requiring tighter than +/-0.3 degree | Not verified | A 0.05-degree display step does not establish a tighter tolerance. |
It describes the 7-inch / 180 mm measuring rules. The LCD, pivot and locking knob sit at their joint; do not read 7 inches as the complete tool footprint in every position.
Use it for miter saw accuracy checks. Contact the relevant surfaces with the 180 mm rules and zero from the flat starting position before trusting the angle.
That depends on which surfaces must be contacted. Shelf alignment is listed, but the 180 mm length does not establish fit across every shelf or cabinet opening.
Use it for table saw blade checks. Both rules must seat at the measurement surfaces; it requires contact rather than automatic non-contact blade sensing.
After the inside reading, REV shows 180 degrees minus the measured inside angle. Confirm the angle convention required by your setup before transferring that value.
It has fixed pivoting aluminum rules with metric and inch marks, not a retracting tape. Use the rules for short contact spans and a suitable tape for longer distances.
The digital range is 0-360 degrees, rather than being restricted to a right-angle reading. Establish the starting reference with ZERO from a flat starting position.
The rule markings measure short linear dimensions. The LCD reports angles; its 0.05-degree step and +/-0.3-degree accuracy are angular specifications, not inch graduations.
The knob holds the physical 180 mm rules. Use HOLD for a frozen screen reading; securing the arms and holding the display are separate controls.
It changes the display orientation after a three-second press, helping upside-down reading. It does not change the stated +/-0.3-degree measurement accuracy.
The operating range is 32-122 F / 0-50 C. Performance outside that range is not verified; let it return to normal conditions after extreme exposure.
Use a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive materials and cleaners. Do not wash the display housing.
LX-DAF7 has 7-inch / 180 mm rules; LX-DAF10 has 10-inch / 250 mm rules. Both publish +/-0.3-degree accuracy and 0.05-degree resolution, so compare contact reach and room for the arms.
The LX-DAF5 has the same +/-0.3-degree accuracy as LX-DAF7. Its rules are shorter at 5 inches / 130 mm, so the verified difference is size rather than a tighter accuracy class.
One 7-inch / 180 mm finder, a zippered pouch and two CR2032 cells. Install one 3V cell for operation; do not install both together.
Yes. The LCD uses a 3V CR2032 operating cell. The imperial and metric marks can be read as physical markings, but the digital angle function needs its battery.
Remove the battery when the device will be unused for more than three months. Store it in the supplied case to protect the tool.
12 months standard; 24 months when you register online within 90 days of purchase. Commercial coverage is limited to 12 months and industrial use is excluded.
For initial calibration, align both rules on a flat surface and press ZERO. To use the 180-degree position as a starting point, extend both rules fully, lay them flat and press ZERO.
Rotate the locking knob counterclockwise to release the arms; set the angle, then tighten the knob clockwise to hold it.
After measuring the inside angle, REV shows its supplementary value: 180 degrees minus the measured inside angle.
To open the battery tray, release its rear screw with the included screwdriver. Turn the screen toward you and press the battery release tab to eject the tray. Fit the CR2032 cell with its negative face upward; contact Lexivon if a fresh cell does not restore the display.
Zero the tool on the reference surface, keep both surfaces clean and flat, and seat the rules fully. If the reading remains inconsistent, contact Lexivon before relying on it.
Wipe it with a soft dry cloth, avoid abrasive cleaners and store it in the supplied pouch. Remove the battery if it will be unused longer than three months; keep coin cells away from children.
