Overview

LX-182 pairs a 3/8-inch drive with a 10-80 ft-lb (13.6-108.5 Nm) clockwise measuring range. Its 14-1/2-inch length is suited for mechanical jobs where torque, socket drive and available space fit; low-Nm bicycle bolts and left-hand tightening need another tool.

A 3/8-Inch Drive For Mechanical Jobs

Match a 3/8-inch socket to the fastener and set clockwise torque from 10 to 80 ft-lb. Check space for the 14-1/2-inch wrench, and stop at the first click.

Check The Unit Before Tightening

Use the ft-lb or Nm scale for the equipment specification. Each micrometer increment represents 0.5 ft-lb, approximately 0.678 Nm.

Return To The Minimum Setting

Store the wrench in a clean, dry place at 10 ft-lb, with zero on the micrometer. Never turn the handle below the minimum.

Will it fit the job?

Match the required torque, measurement direction, square drive and working space to the equipment specification.

Job or attachmentWorksWhat to check
Bicycle, motorcycle and mower fastenersYes, when specification fitsClockwise tightening within 10-80 ft-lb; follow the equipment maker's torque value.
3/8-inch drive socketsYesMatch the socket opening to the fastener and allow space for the wrench.
1/4-inch drive socketsNo direct fitMatch the square drive rather than the socket opening size.
Fasteners below 10 ft-lbNoUse a lower-range torque tool.
Fasteners above 80 ft-lbNoUse a higher-range torque tool.
Left-hand threaded fastenersNo calibrated reverse tighteningReversible ratchet does not provide calibrated counterclockwise measurement.
Stuck fasteners and added leverageNoDo not use as a breaker bar or add leverage devices.

Questions

Can I use it for higher-torque bicycle fasteners?

For higher-torque bicycle work, LX-182 covers 10-80 ft-lb (13.6-108.5 Nm). Check crank, pedal or other component instructions individually: many small bicycle bolts fall below this range, and left-hand bottom-bracket threads need a different measurement direction.

Can it tighten motorcycle fasteners?

Motorcycle chassis work can suit the 3/8-inch drive when the service value is 10-80 ft-lb clockwise. Check the socket and space around the fastener; the wrench is 14-1/2 inches long, which is relevant in confined access.

Can I use it for a lawn-mower blade bolt?

A mower blade bolt is suitable only if its maker specifies clockwise tightening within 10-80 ft-lb. Confirm access and follow the mower and attachment instructions for any extension arrangement.

Will my 1/4-inch drive sockets fit directly?

LX-182 takes 3/8-inch square-drive sockets directly, not 1/4-inch ones. A buyer selecting both small and medium tools must match each socket's drive recess to the wrench, even when the socket opening fits the same bolt.

Can I tighten fasteners below 10 ft-lb?

Use a smaller torque tool for specifications under 10 ft-lb (13.6 Nm). LX-182 is a higher-range option for some bicycle jobs, rather than a replacement for a low-Nm wrench used on delicate components.

Can it measure torque on left-hand threaded fasteners?

Left-hand bicycle threads are a limitation for LX-182. The lever reverses the ratchet, but it measures torque clockwise only. Select a dual-direction model if the component requires measured counterclockwise tightening.

Does it use ft-lb and Nm markings?

This is the foot-pound model: its two scales cover 10-80 ft-lb and 13.6-108.5 Nm. Read the body scale and the equipment's unit carefully instead of carrying over an inch-pound number.

How does LX-182 compare with LX-183?

LX-182 offers a 3/8-inch drive and 10-80 ft-lb clockwise range. LX-183 provides a 1/2-inch drive and extends to 150 ft-lb, also clockwise only. Choose LX-182 when the smaller socket drive and its range fit; choose the larger range when the job requires it.
