This is the absolute best soldering iron I’ve ever bought and the customer service is the best I’ve had in a very long time! I use my soldering iron all the time and was so upset when it stopped working then I remembered it had a warranty!! I filled out the claim form and someone got back to me within the hour, after answering a few questions I had a new one on the way the same day. The whole process was complete (new kit in hand) within 72 hours. It was quick and painless, overall a wonderful experience and I’m now a customer for life. Great product, good quality and excellent customer service, which is rare these days!! I am very happy I purchased the kit.

For the last couple years, this torch has been my absolute favorite, and where all other torches would quit working for some reason or other, I was always able to depend on my Lexivon torch. Well up until just recently that is, when most unfortunately my beloved torch finally broke on me . The pic that I have attached really can't tell you much, nor would any picture at all for that matter. I will do my best to describe . . . The bottom of the torch, where the tip of the butane can is pressed into the torch,(the little fill valve to be exact) seems to somehow have come loose, resulting in the torch now sadly being totally useless as it will no longer hold any butane st all. I like that it gets hot very quickly, holds the temperature and is very portable. It's very nice to use.

The product did not do well soldering trailer harness wires. The trigger is fatiguing to light and hold open while you are soldering. Since you have to hold it open to solder one slip and your peice is cooling down while you reignite. The device heated fine but the chisel tip temp was hard to regulate. As far as shrink tubing it did not do a very even job. This item was just not worthwhile as a portable soldering iron on this application. I got out a drop cord and my electric pencil soldering iron - no problem. I am not sure whether to recommend it as a portable soldering iron. It might work well on some jobs. It was somewhat better heating shrink tubing. It does provide other utility so I am upgrading my original rating. I do like the kit: case, solder, sponge, and the tips provided.

Pretty good as most reviews say but because of either poor temperature control or cheap tip materials, the tips burn out way too fast. turned it on to tin the tip and it burned out the first time i used it. Otherwise would give 5 stars but hard to do because tips need to be more durable.Edit: Lexivon seller reached out to me and resolved the issue. no problems with the new unit. great company and product.

Excellent product. I bought this for soldering but am definitely looking to use it for wood burning as well. The heat is very controlled. Make sure you use a high quality butane!

I didn't even have to change the tips out to shrink the shrink wrap since this thing blows hot exhaust out the side of the tip, and I was able to just use that.I also used to solder wires onto a keyboard switch so this can be used on delicate computer wires as well as thick automotive wires.Overall I would recommend this to anyone who needs a quick soldering iron and doesn't want to have to find a plug or wait for the heat to reach soldering temps.. it's ready in seconds instead of minutes like equally small electric varieties I've used.

Small soldering tips

I use this in mobile mechanic tool set and it has helped me with quote a few jobs. The different tips are fairly versatile and easy to switch. I would buy this again, no issues so far.

love it, I just wish the case foam were cut in a way to accept the iron with any of the tips on it so I wouldn't have to de-configure it every time but that's alright, you can still squeeze it in there with the tips. It just doesn't look as "neat"

Haven't done too much soldering with it, but the hot air attachment works great for desoldering.Nice smooth metal finish. Gas flow adjuster helps control heat.I do soldering with a Hakko

Nothing really to carp about. It's THAT good especially at that price point. I should know about these types of portable irons, 35 years as 'Field Service Engineer" for Lockheed Aerospace.The Lexivon iron is the nicest I've ever used bar none!Ok, one thing that would have been good to have? A gas gauge to see the butane level. Though it's good size volume.

Great kit, just remember to buy a butane refill bottle. Like all fuel powered devices it does not come with the butane.

Nice unit. Easily fills with butane. Adequate accessory tips for soldering, cutting, etc. Heats up quickly. Doesn't appear to have an abundance of flame adjustment, but enough to not be a problem. Only accessory I think should have been included but was not is some kind of wire holder to secure the torch while lit but at rest.Very satisfied so far with purchase.

Very easy to use and heats up fast

Bought this to replace my 25 year old Weller Butane Portasol. Comes with ALL the tips you would need, including the two I use most. The pinpoint tip and the complete heat shrink tip. But to swap a tip is complex. Unscrew the heat/flame shield and use TWO wrenches to remove the tip, which fits on a base that fits INSIDE the heat/flame shield. Reverse order to install a different tip. Extra attachment to use the heat shrink function. It all makes sense and does come with a protective plastic tip cover, which I use to keep it fully assembled with the tip I use the most. Overall, not a bad buy, considering it is half the cost of the Weller. I only hope it is as durable.

Sadly, the product was delivered to the wrong address but thankfully my neighbors brought it to us. Once i was finally able to use it I must say it worked exactly as advertised.

I just want to say I have been using my torch for 2 years now and just recently it died on me. I explained everything to their customer support and they decided to send me a replacement. I would have been happy to buy a replacement because of how long it lasted me. But I am very thankful that they cared enough about their customers to replace mine at no extra expense to me. This torch is a no brainer if not need one pick it up.

It's a handy little soldering iron. Works for what I need wiring for rc cars. But filling the iron with butane is a pain in the neck. Tried a couple different cans and and I shoot air everytime. Like the plunger doesn't go all the way down. Idk. Great other than filling

The huge advantage of this set is the speed with which you can work. I bought it to solder 10mm² cables and welded a leaky PVC housing for the pool piping with it. It worked great.

If you're reading this review you got to remember to get the best refined butane you can find or else are you going to get misfires. I just had to put that out there. This torch is very comfortable to use and is the perfect temperature for soldering whatever you need to solder. As soon as I tried my Lexivon i Thruway my Weller portable Torch. It was old and I never liked it anyway and I paid over $100 for it. Now I got this Lexivon and I love it. And you will too I guarantee it. Some people say that it's hard to get around the safety features but they put there for a reason. I cannot believe the price I got the torch for. It is very well-built and I have a feeling I'll have an a long time.

The exhaust for the butane comes out near the tip, sideways. Make sure you know this before attempting to solder anything as you stand a real chance of burning the thing you want to solder or, as in my case, the very protection of a cable that I was soldering. It made a total mess of things and necessitated a restart.Other than that - it's fantastic and I would not be without it when attempting projects where electricity isn't easily or safely available.

Except for the protective cap, the box and the coloring 1:1 identical to the Dremel set. Even the accessories fit. However, the protective cap on the Dremel is a little better thought out, as it completely covers the “igniter†. With the Lexivon, this can still be activated with the cap on. Purchased to replace the lost Dremel.

Read the directions first twice. it uses catalytic materials, so you will not see a flame but it does get hot! Has a lot of tips (solder, cutting, etc.) Great on a boat were electricity is iffy and you don't really want open flames around

Ok now first off, I love the product, I love the portability of the torch and I love the case how it holds everything in place really snug. Awesome job to Lexivon! Another couple things I am definitely going to pick up the other model they have because the stand up ability of that one would be beneficial in a lot of situations but I like the reach of this one if you are in a situation where you might have to solder something in place. I work on engines so I have to à€œreach" a lot. The torch is a hit and miss on temps because it is portable and butane, but I can live with that because it's portable. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this torch but I am going to list some improvements, in my opinion, that could be done:1: The collar on the torch is plastic that screws the cover over the torch that you use to put any attachments on, in my experiences plastic and metal do not go well together when threads are involved, hence the threads will strip and make the torch useless. And same thing but heat and plastic do not go well together, the torch gets hot because it is a torch and plastic does melt, so when I'm using my torch I set it down for a second and that second turns into 5 mins and torch burns itself out of butane and the sucker is red hot what will happen to the said plastic collar? Just something to think about guys.2: can you please put a window of some sort on the tank, it is really difficult to know how full(or not full) the tank is.3: Can you figure out a little stand of some sort that could possibly fold up into the case to use when your soldering, this thing is hard to keep from tipping when placed down4: The cover for the torch, again, plastic, and how do plastic and heat get along? Not good. So maybe a metal tip cover?Anyway hope this helps I love the torch and it is a 5 star item but as like anything no matter how good it is, you can always make it better.

Easy to use and very good item`s quality

I needed to do an extensive wiring repair under a vehicle. This product allowed me to get the job done easily without having to run extension cords. The heat I needed to splice the wiring was much more efficient than any electric appliance I could have used.
