I dont have that axe but, have a better view of that axe head on reviews than promotion pics. You should replace the "bee man" pic by better pics of your product!

Gift for my son. He loves it. He said it cuts like butter.

I got these when they had a 30% coupon which made them cheaper than other axes I've bought. Happy with both purchases, the 28 and 36. Tested them out against trees and didn't have any issue. Huge chunks were flying out. Good stuff.

This axe has clearly been used before it was sold to me. Not new. Dirty and scuffed.

Axe is exactly what i hoped it would be. Fits nicely in the hands and is surprisingly lightweight!

REVIEW: The handle is comfortable enough, the blade is sharp enough and well shaped, the weight is what I wanted, and the handle hasn't even been scratched by hard hits. I got this axe so that I could split wood and occasionally cut up branches without having two axes. This axe does ok at both jobs. I don't quite understand the blade cover.UNIMPORTANT: Since the handle is light you can only rest it with the handle pointing up, but there is a handle on the blade cover that keeps it from resting that way. This just means that you need to hang up the axe or lay it on its side.

Works just as well as any brand name splitting axe. Easy to keep sharp and maintain. Perfect for those that want to use velocity for splitting rather than a heavier split maul.

This is my first splitting axe. I usually use a michigan double bit. This one definitely splits easier.

This is my first axe that has a composite handle. My other 2 have the old school wooden handle. Oh and what a difference that makes!! I had a small adjustment to make when chopping wood for the first time in comparison to my other axes due to the weight balance. The wooden handles are heavier, hence the hand positioning is a bit different when using this composite/fiberglass one. But once I got a handle of it, I was having a great time chopping. This thing came out of the package VERY sharp. Really, you could cut a piece of paper across its blade. After chopping wood for a solid two hours total, it has remained just as sharp. Sure I only chopped pine which is pretty soft, but I am very impressed with the material here. I chop wood of course to burn it, but I love it as a workout as well, so I sometimes chop for my two elderly neighbors just to sweat. I totally recommend this axe for anyone looking to try an upgraded technology of this ancient instrument. I hope this assists you with your shopping. If so feel free to let me and others know below and leave a comment with any questions you might have.Cheers, Cass

Construction of this Lexivon is good (as expected from this brand), economical, lightweight, medium duty. Blade is cast steel, and sharp enough. Quality control is consistent. Axe blade had molded safety cover. Fiberglass hollow handle, makes this unit a bit top heavy due to the length. Overall good grip, throw, and delivery in every stroke. I could have settled for its baby brother, but works just fine. I generally have had good results from Lexivon as I own some other hand tools from them included a 1/4" torque wrench as well. Carry handle/slot built into the blade cover for easy carrying or hanging on a hook or tool bench. Overall an excellent product for the sub $40 price point. Will continue to trust and purchase this brand in the future.

Was easy to use straight out of the box and light weight. The holder also has a handle and is nice and easy.

Unbelievably, this axe broke in half on the second swing¦.right out of the box. The upper portion that included the splitting maul flew backwards and missed my face by inches. Too close of a call to trust this company any further regarding their axes/hatchets. I`ll be reaching out to Lexivons customer service to inform them of this issue and to return a hatchet I purchased a year ago.

This is a neat axe for light duty work. It's beautiful, sturdy, made of nice quality materials, sharper than it looks, and comes with a good safety case for the head. Its handle is at least partially hollow and it might not be where to go for heavy duty axe work, but it should do the job for lighter work.

I am impressed with this axe.I use it for things around the house. I tend to get fresh Christmas trees around the holidays and I need something good to be able to cut them in small pieces. I am impressed, it was so easy to chop and cut the tree. I tested it in other wood in our backyard and with my small frame I was able to cut the wood easy. I amNot a lumberjack, I just need certain things around the house and this Axe works for what I need it for

The handle is hollow hence very light. The axe head is 4.5 lbs and the combination provides for a balance point or center of gravity much to far forward or about 8 inches from the top of the axe. Hence when swinging, the weight is very far forward and not very controllable as it would be with a more well balanced axe.

This is a review of the 36" handle axe. We tried splitting some birch logs and came away very disappointed. Here is why:The Bad: -- POOR BALANCE - HEAVY: The handle is hollow hence very light. The axe head is 4.5 lbs and the combination provides for a balance point or center of gravity much to far forward or about 8 inches from the top of the axe. Hence when swinging, the weight is very far forward and not very controllable as it would be with a more well balanced axe. This is probably why in the webpage picture the user has such a widely spaced hold on the axe. -- HOLLOW HANDLE: One of the reasons for the forward weight is the light handle which is hollow and it reliability from breaking is suspect. -- UNREPAIRABLE & UNREPLACEABLE HANDLE: The handle itself, as its fiberglass, is unrepairable and cannot be replaced if broken as it could be if it were a wood handle. -- AXE HEAD CANNOT BE RE-HANDLED: This axe has a fiberglass wrap around the axe head Vs the traditional thru hole or axe eye. Even if the axe head could be removed if the handle breaks, there is no axe eye to be able to insert a new wood handle and wedge it in place. -- THROWAWAY ONCE BROKE: So due to the above this is a throwaway tool once its broken. -- DID NOT SPLIT WELL: The axe out of the box could not split a birch log. See the video. -- NOT SHARP: The edge was not sharp out of the box.The Good: -- COMFORTABLE TO HOLD: The handle was comfortable and provided a good grip with its rubberized coating at the bottom and the smooth top portion allows the hand to slide easily on the return stroke. -- SECURE HOLD: The swell at the back of the handle helps to provide a good solid hold which you will need since the weight is so far forward. Conclusion: I dont trust this axe will hold up with its fiberglass handle and given its unrepairable and as the balance is so far forward, I would go with a more traditional and well balanced wood handled axe.

Missed with my first swing and handle held up just fine. So far it has met all my needs

We’re used to chopping by buying chopped wood. The place we go to has a large hydraulic machine. Load a log, push a lever and “Boom” chopped wood.Last winter, during storm Uri, I bought what may have been the last bit of cut wood in our area for our own use and to share with our woodless, freezing neighbors. None of it had been run through the splitter yet but I wasn’t in any position to be picky. The stuff did burn after a fashion but it was inferior to the same oak wood after it has been split.Oak doesn’t easily break apart – or this stuff didn’t. I’ve seen many movies where some guy easily hits a log end-on with an axe resulting in two equal pieces. The process seemed simple and relaxing. Good exercise and all. We got this hoping it’d be a method to get this pile of whole logs split into better firewood. After spending hours playing Paul Bunyan Jr. and chasing after logs or bits and pieces of logs that tried to escape, I’m unsure.First of all, this isn’t relaxing work. All the mass of this assembly is in the head. Once it gets moving it’ll keep moving until it hits something that could be your leg – not a good outcome. Secondly, unlike the movies, the axe doesn’t hit easily the wood dead center resulting in two log halves. A tiny bit of off-center hit will result in a small piece of the log calving off. That happens often resulting in you chasing after the small piece to put on the pile. Then you have to take the reduced larger piece back to the chopping block for a rework. The second cut is more difficult due to target reduction.I’ve included a video with an upbeat tune showing not just a successful split but one, the more common one, where the axe gets stuck in a stubborn log. Believe, me, after several hours over two days, neither of us felt as bouncy as the video would have you think. Chopping wood isn’t relaxing exercise; it’s brutal work. Neither of us was ever able to get a first whack split on a log over 6” or 15 cm. I don’t know if it’s us or if the axe needs the ax.

High quality axe made of lightweight fiberglass. Easy to handle for splitting medium size logs. A must have during winter. Recommend it.
Crystal161981
This is a heavy well made splitter. The handle construction is solid and it has enough weight to split 12 to 14 inch logs easily but not wear you like a maul would.

Went through wood like hot knife through butter

This is a nice axe, does the duty of a maul pretty well while saving some weight over your traditional splitting maul. I've never minded the heft of a maul, but over time, if you're splitting a lot of wood the slightly less effective sort of hybrid axe/maul head still pulls ahead due to the lighter weight when swinging. As a low-volume splitter, this works just as well for me. I would like if the handle was solid the whole way through, the open pommel end is a bit off-putting, however the tool feels super solid and not flimsy at all.

This axe means business. Serious business.Wielding it you will feel like Paul bunyan. It's sheer and sleek, and has a heavy head but a light body. When swinging it, I felt like I could split any lumber clean in half.Now.. granted when I actually connected with the wood, I am an amateur! However, it makes quick work of most lumber I threw at it, to be perfectly honest. This fiberglass composite construction makes it so that you can't miss and bang up your axe handle, which is great if you don't know what you're doing!Seriously, if you have any trees to break down into firewood, this is a huge time saver.
David Mcgough
Love this thing for splitting medium/small pieces. Have not used on much bigger than 12” diameter logs but works great on the smaller stuff. May need a maul still for logs 15” and bigger just depends on what your splitting
Jethro Clampett
Although it's almost 2lbs lighter, it splits better than the standard 8lb maul. It's far less tiring, is easy to get more speed, and the handle design makes it swing true. The design digs deep, frees up easily, and generally does the job with one or two swings. If it does need to be whacked with a sledge, that's doable if you are accurate. The only times it did need a sledge was when there were large knots in the chunk.

Used this several times for splitting wood. It’s not too heavy and has a nice balance, only thing is that I have to sharpen it on first use.

We ordered this axe for splitting wood to take to the campground and leave at our camper for firewood. It is perfect and is very sharp. Easily splits good size logs into pieces for firewood. Has a good grip on the handle as well.
Dean Family
This is a well made, rugged wood splitting axe. It has a solid steel head with wedges built in. It does a nice job of cracking a chunk of log apart!I like the 3-foot fiberglass handle. It’s solidly connected to the steel head. It is hollow, so it’s lightweight, allowing your swing to deliver all the power to the blade. The handle feels good in the hands, and is easy to wield. I like that it comes with a plastic protector for the head which I leave on between uses.

First one broke. Got it replaced. And second one broke first time using it. Would not recommend to anyone.
Canis Majoris
This is a very large log-splitting axe that has a composite frame and heavy blade. It's 36", so quite a large axe, allowing for pretty impressive acceleration. It's overall well made and sturdy, though the balance is off. The balance is definitely head-heavy, which makes it more difficult to get the initial swing going, but will allow for a very fast downward swing that packs quite a wallop. That being said, you will get an arm workout with this one.Very well made overall.

I think my adult son and I were both amazed at this ax when it arrived. We are used to smaller axes, like the ones used for camping. We swapped out our electric fireplace for a wood-burning stove, so we have had to learn a lot about firewood. My son cut some of our wood originally, but his source was sold and the new owner put up a fence, so no more free wood. We had to buy our wood, so we never invested in a better ax.With the country the way it is now, we expect to have to begin cutting wood again. We have eight acres, so we should be able to locate some firewood and we'll need this manly ax. It is heavy to me, but light by ax standards, I understand. It is VERY sharp!! I was very impressed with the sharpness. There is a hard plastic sheath over the blade, fortunately, to protect us from that blade when it is not being used. I am very happy with this ax. It will come in handy when my son has to actually cut and split our firewood. For that reason, I do recommend the LEXIVON V36s Splitting Axe.

So I am not going to say its a knock off Fiskars X27 (could only find my x15 for comparison) but it basically is. Now not saying that is a bad thing, sometimes knock offs are trash, this one is NOT. It has the same balance as the Fiskars, the same "isocore" design, same handle over head molding design, same kind of carrier/case BUT at about half the price, and that makes it a GREAT axe! It comes sharp, the first couple of swings were "sticky" due to the coating on the edge of the blade but after that wore off it will chop like nobodys business!

I LOVE this axe. I've only had it for a few hours, but we got tired of using our smaller axe for chopping firewood and this makes it SO MUCH EASIER. Most of you probably know that, but I sure didn't. I figured, why do we need a new axe? We have this one. Well, we did need one. And, this one is excellent. So easy to use. We both went out immediately to try it on our wood and, wow, we get so much more momentum swinging a full-size axe than we did that smaller camping-size axe.Very comfortable to hold. Weighted very well-- perfectly balanced. Easy to swing.

Very, very good splitting tool.

The handle feels better in your hand than the black and orange one and has a different feel and sound upon the strike but if it breaks like some people "feel" it will it's guaranteed and registering it online was very quick and easy. As someone who splits about a dozen chords a year I give it two thumbs up #humanfirewoodprocessingmachine #beastmode

A feature of this splitter is that it is light weight. This is a nice feature for carrying the axe and for ease of use but not too good if you are splitting very hard to split logs. For splitting hard to split logs, you need the extra weight provided by a maul. I found I was able to split medium sized wood quite easily with this splitting axe. The axe usually did not get caught halfway through a split and was easy to pull out when it did. If you are looking for a lightweight splitting axe and do not need a heavy duty maul, I recommend this splitting axe.
Mark Evans
For a fiberglass handle this guys still got some weight to it.id put aside a few chunks of hard wood for testing purposes...and i must say ,the head design went thru that oak no problem .again a bit heavy but thus is sold as a splitting axe and it fills the bill good axe performs very well in the splitting role. ill no doubt be splitting more wood and will do a follow up video on further functuallity.so far so good!for

The Lexivon V36s splitting axe is quite strong and sturdy and just splits firewood like a dream. I believe this axe provides a good value if you prepare your own wood stockpile to use for heat during winter. However, even though the head of the axe is flawless in both performance and design, the lightweight and hollow body of the axe may not be durable enough for heavy-duty applications. For my use, this axe is more than adequate and has been able to supply me one winter's worth of firewood. With that being said, I don't need a lot of firewood because my home is not that big and happens to be very well-insulated. Overall, this axe is a decent quality product offered at a fair price.

Splitting wood can be much less of a chore when I use a great splitting axe like this LEXIVON 36 inch super splitter axe. This has a reinforced fiberglass handle that is hollow and oval shaped with a flare at the butt end. The head is securely held with a wrap around design I hadn't seen before. It has excellent balance and striking power. The forged carbon steel head is 3.8 lbs of sharp wood splitting dynamite when I give this a full swing. The grip has some no slip TPR padding (the yellow) and the axe comes with a plastic sheath to keep the blade safe.I love that this was designed in USA and carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The head is made to split wood with a center wedge flare that limits getting stuck. This axe is a really well made product and an excellent value from my point of view.I Recommend this LEXIVON V36s Splitting Axe, 36-Inch Lightweight Fiberglass-Composite Handle & Ergonomic TPR Grip | Protective Carrying Sheath Included (LX-V36S). Great tool for my wood splitting needs.I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

The handle on this axe is hollow plastic with a rubber grip. The head comes nice and sharp with a gradually widening blade. Feels good ergonomically and solidly made. Synthetic vs wooden handle is a preference thing but this one feels like it will last for a long long time.

This axe is awesome. The handle is hollow which keeps it lightweight, and it comes with a carrying handle case

This thing splits wood like a whino drinks booze. This axe is the best tool that I've bought in years. The weight is forward, with a super ergonomic handle; the balance is excellent. Hit a piece of wood right and it's like chopping butter. Even when you miss, the handle doesn't send crazy vibrations up your wrists; it just takes it. There are more expensive splitting axes out there, but I have no idea why you would buy them. This one is a winner. Get you some of this!
