The fiberglass handle is very sturdy. It was very reasonably priced compared to other brands I have used before. Granted, I am not in the field every day, but I use this on a ranch property in North Texas on a regular basis. Good buy, well-balanced. l Would buy a gain.

Just a super tool for the price! Did the job on above ground tree roots. My 13yo son was able to wield it and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Weight and balance perhaps not top of the line. But all things considered...for $30 how can you beat this choice!?!?I’m very pleased with the piece.

Although I wanted an all purpose axe, not just a splitting axe, this is all I've used it for so far. Nice balance, good grip on handle.

used to spit cedar works good for that but as soon as i started to chop maple blocks for fire wood the head broke off second swing.

axe will deflect off wood do to unbalanced and the head need to be a bit wider to split the wood better

I've used many different axes and hatchet and I haven't come across an axe like Lexivon produces. I like the heavyweight polymer handle, which looks like it could easily endure an overswing, which in the past has meant replacing the wood handle. The axe head is meant to sustain a solid day's workload. All-in-all a darn good axe for the asking price. I want to look at their other products they offer as well.

This product is way better than the other lightweight handle in the market. It feels strong and chops great with every swing. Blade is sharp and it's ready to use right out of the box. Highly recommended.

Had I know the handle was hollow I would not have purchased. I believe the description that the handle is Fiber-glass composite is misleading. Its very light weight and does a decent job cutting small trees. Would I purchase again? No, id rather have an axe with a solid handle.

As described.

The fiberglass/composite handle is hollow and light, the axe is head-heavy. This allows for less fatigue while working . You let the weight of the axe do the work for you. Accuracy takes some practice! I like the size and weight because it is easy to control. I also bought the 28 inch Lexivon splitting axe and it does its job very well too. The handle is molded through the head so no more loose axe head problems. I have no complaints.

Splits wood so easily that my husband won’t stop using it. Our garage is overflowing with firewood now. He can’t get over the difference it’s made versus the electric saw he was previously using.

We purchased this for disaster preparedness and to cut wood for our firepit and fireplace. Thankfully we haven't needed it yet but it is incredibly well made and comes with safety options to keep you safe while allowing you to easily cut wood for lifetime use.

Strong durable axe. The head is thick and heavy enough for a full swing but the handel is light weight and comfortable to hold on too. It flares at the bottom to ensure it doesn't slip out of your hand. Overall great tool and a great value for the money you spend

Very nice axe does some serious cutting it wasn't very sharp when i got it but a few passes with a file holds a sdge good and comfortable grip and handle

the handle is more oval and sturdier than my regular axe (with wooden handle) so it handles differently. But it does the job well.

Looks to be a very well made product. I will be using it in my garden on Friday to remove tree stumps.

Bulky blade

It is light weight and easy to carry around, but I think the head need to be a little heavier and blade need to be a couple inches wider. The reason I said that is because head often bounce off the wood when I strike on it. Or slip off when I didn't hit accurate enough.

Good design but unfortunately the blade is blunt quality.

The metal is weak and the blade chips and dents when I cut wood.

Haven't got to use it yet but very impressed in the quality you get for the price you pay. Very happy and exactly what I was looking for

Slightly chipped when first using it, I only cut 4 logs and it chipped.. not sure if it's supposed to be chipped like that?

This is very light weight and sturdiness. Great axe and great price. You won't be disappointed.

Hollow handle is concerning. Won`t take much of a beating. Also, how the handle is attached to the head isn`t going to last.

I bought this not as a self-defense axe but just in case I need to break my door when there is fire. The axe is fairly heavy and has good weight on it. Wouldn't use it for self-defense because of the weight but this thing will cut and chop anything you it with. The blade protector is also fairly easy to unlock and very helpful

I`m clearing out a tree line and prefer to not use a chain saw. Most of what I do is covered by a corona saw, but there are several 5-8 inch trees to bring down as well. Their axe is perfect for felling small trees and less effort than sawing through dead / dry trunks. Perfect for the job at hand.

Beyond expectations

I bought this axe to chop up some oak logs. It worked great for about 5-6 uses but recently it broke on impact (see photo).

Disclaimer: I have never used a chopping axe before handling this one, so I have nothing to compare it to. I can just write about my experience with it.When I bought this axe, there were no ratings and no reviews. I decided to give it a go based on the old "how bad can it be" principle, considering I've never used an axe like this and I just needed something like this to clean up some of the forest behind my house, but not for any professional or heavy duty work.When it arrived, it wasn't very sharp. so I gave it a pass with a sharpening rod. It's not super hard steel so it was easy to give it a good edge. The blade has a somewhat rough texture, and is not as smooth as I expected it would be. However, due to the convexity of the two faces, this doesn't seem to created a problem when the blade enters the wood.I have used on soft wood trees (so-called octopus trees, Schefflera, a common invasive here) about a foot in diameter, and considering I was practicing my swing, it performed very well. A well placed strike at the right angle would easily penetrate a couple inches into the soft wood. It was relatively easy to fell several trees in one afternoon.The handle is sturdy and very well attached, it's hard to imagine how one could break it while operating the tool in the intended way.Overall, I am pretty happy with this axe so far.After each use, I gave it a good brushing and oiling and it almost looked like new.
