Bought this tape measure 2 years ago, and it's still thriving! Easy to read aswell precise, built tough as I've dropped it quite abit measuring on the job. And lastly easy to carry on you due to the clip. Thanks Lexivon for introducing a great Tape Measure!!!

Only complaint is wish the main side was yellow like all others. Takes some getting used to. Other than that would of given it 5 stars.

Perfect for use at home and certainly elsewhere, lots of bars except you can't see the 16ths, but that's not a problem for me!

Needed a measuring tape, this was cheap costing, showed up the next day and the quality of the product was amazing! For those new homeowners, or DIY doers, this is for you!
Alicia McVay
Got it for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves it. Says its dead on and one of the best measuring tapes he's ever used. Only issue is it's a bit flimsy, it bends a little too easy like when measuring to the ceiling it might bend and fall. But he loves it besides that. Highly recommend.

Nice tape I have not used it much yet but I think I will like it.The 1 inch wide blade allows for a long reach without folding over.

Works as good as other tape measures that cost twice as much

Ive been looking for a good " Bang for the buck" tape measure because I work outside rain or shine... So far the Lexivon tapes have been able to hold up better than most higher priced tapes that rust to quickly IMO.... However, the one downside is the stand off of these tapes being only 1" thick is not very good at around 7-8ft at best... I use another tape on windy days like a fat max for that reason.
TRUE ARTIST
its a normal sliding button stop and it will hold at the length your desired point 25 foot high quality highly visible material and durable construction. The thing that makes this a must have is the button on the bottom for one handed stop and hold measurements, if you dont have a second hand free to slide the button down on side to lock it like how all normal tape measures do, you can hold this in a precise position one handed with no effort by holding the button down on bottom where whatever hand your using to hold this while measuring already is placed.

This has been in use for over a year.Works great.Nice size.Solid.It measures!I recommend it.

While this is a decent tape measure, I don't think it stands up in comparison to the regular brand names. It has some very nice features, but overall, it's just not that comfortable to use. What I like:- prongs on end of tape extend both up and down to give ability to grip either direction, and it's nice and flat on the end for holding against a wall.- Like the rubber bumpers-The hold button is a nice ideaWhat I don't like:- Rubber bumpers don't protect the very top of the tape measure- Hold button doesn't work well - requires way to much force for it to be effective- Retracts too hard, snapping the tape so hard it automatically locks it- Extends less than 8' before the tape snaps. It says it'll extend 8', but mine maxes out at just over 7.Overall, compared to my Stanley and other tapes, this one just doesn't feel as robust. It still feels a step down quality wise, and while the features are good ideas, they just aren't executed very well.

Not made for real construction work. Its ok if you're home doing little projects but wont cut it if your using it every day all day
Jcall55
Well made tape with everything you can expect a good tape to have. It has a 1 inch sturdy blade with locking mechanism on the bottom and a lock switch on the front like all tapes. It is well made and durable amd survived me dropping it off the roof and throwing it against the side of the building.

It's light and doesn't feel very sturdy, probably wasn't meant to be tossed around a construction site. Those measure has markings on both sides though the numbers could of been bigger. The biggest knock I have against it is that it locks when you pull out the tape. You have to force the tape back in once you're done with it. I'll give it a few weeks of use to see if it's cause it's new.
JLee
My old tape measure (probably 25 years old) doesn’t have half the features of this one. To mention a few, it is 25 feet long. It also, in addition to little marks, actually has fractions marked in numbers (1/8, 1/4, 3/8, ½, etc.) so it is easy to read at a glance. It has a wrist strap and a belt loop, but I think it is quite heavy for a belt loop. I find the sliding lock a bit hard to engage and disengage. Metric measurements are on the reverse side, which is a bit awkward to read. All in all, it is a great improvement over my old one and will be handy for my upcoming home renovations.

This tape measure is rugged! It is pretty heavy (13.5 oz) and has rubbery black bumpers, which gives the impression that it can take a beating. It has a belt clip and a strap, so carrying it around is easy. The tape is printed on both sides. The numbers are extra large until you reach the 1 foot mark. The print changes to a smaller font, but it is still large and easy to read. I like how the total inches is shown with the ft-inch value (for example, at the 15" mark, the tape also has 1F3).I took away 1 point because the tape lock is difficult to push down. Also, if you engage the lock and then point the end of the tape up from the case, the tape slowly slides back into the case, so the lock obviously isn't very strong.
El Abuelo
Exactly what I was looking for, very satisfied.

This tape measure has a lot to like. There are occasions when it makes more sense to use a metric measure rather than an English one, like a few years ago when I built a two-frequency icosahedron geodesic dome. It's way easier to do the mathematical calculations in centimeters and millimeters than in inches and fractions of inches. The addition of an English scale that labels the fractions of an inch down to 1/8 is very handy and the combination English/metric readings on the underside is very convenient. The tape is robust and can be extended unsupported more than 7 feet before it flexes and drops. The locking mechanism is easy to work and doesn't take a lot of pressure to disengage.I also like the speed brake button on the bottom to retract the tape more slowly. The belt clip seems sturdy enough, but I'll probably undo the Phillips screw and remove it since I never wear a tape on my belt. The nylon coating on the tape looks like it will hold up to a lot of heavy use and still look like new.
Toi
This was okay for the price. I like that it had a side with large numbers and one with the standard size. My biggest gripe is that when you engage the lock mechanism, it doesn't work. It kept sliding right back into the housing, just at a slower speed. I wouldn't recommend this one if you can afford better.

Very happy with the tape measure. Was a happy to see both sides of the tape had measuring reads. Used it yesterday and worked very well with my tool belt. Tape strong enough to wind up but not so much as to snap once off. And I hate getting my fingers snapped with a tape coming home.

I'm no professional, but this seems like a great tape measure. It's heavy and sturdy, seems well-made. Bold and easy to read. Tape itself is strong and hook is adjustable. The lock is a bit stiff and hard to move, but once in place it holds well. Useful "pause" button on the underside. Very happy!

I needed a reliable tape measure for occasional measurements and small jobs. This basically fits the bill for me. It appears to be sturdy and the tape includes a wide variety of information, including metric measurement. There are a few issues that could make this fall short for more professional work:- The “true zero” hook is quite loose and lifts away from the end of the tape by about 1\8 of an inch when pulling back from an edge.- The manufacturer indicates an 8ft stand-out, or length to which the tape will not bend. I can get to about 7ft, after which it bends and twists rather suddenly and dramatically.- There are two stopping or locking mechanisms; a manual brake button underneath and a slide along the side that can be locked. The slide works fine but the button requires a lot of pressure, so the tape has a tendency to snap back unexpectedly and at a very high speed.Bottomline: even with some issues, this generally works well for rough measurements and amateur jobs around the house. It’s price point is also reasonable, given the wide variety of info that is included on the tape.

Just like having a roll of duct tape and a pack of zip lock ties, you should always have a good, sturdy tape measure on hand! Measuring a wall to calculate paint needs, a floor before contemplating new flooring, a window to ensure a curtain will fit - gotta have one and this one is a great, sturdy tape measure!

This is well-made and works well. We got one for each of our daughters' personal toolboxes. 25' is good enough for most DIY projects, and the lock and brake mechanisms are as expected. I do like the little foot at the end of the tap, that helps you catch it on an edge to do a one-person measure.

This arrived just in time for me to use for some essential measurements. My 40-year-old tape broke a couple of weeks ago extended a few feet and disappeared into the shell, leaving me with a useless piece less than a yard long. This very heavy duty, WIDE TAPE with EASY TO READ NUMBERS will last the rest of my life and then some!It is easy to use, the lock with the tape extended is 100% secure and rewinds instantly when the lock is released. It is heavy enough that the shell will sit firmly without tipping over with the tape almost fully extended.Well worth the price!

This seems like a pretty sturdy tape measure. It’s a white background with black letters is easily read in darker areas. The rubber coating makes it easy to grip. The brake button on the bottom of the tape measure is a little hard to push. This would make a great homeowner tape measure but not sure if it would hold up to the hard every day use in the construction field.

I have several tape measures around, and this quickly became my favorite. The promotion material says this has 'dual lock' ... don't know what the 2nd way to 'lock' it might be, other than the ability to stop and hold the tape using a button on the bottom side. If that's the 2nd way, I don't mind that it doesn't officially lock. I LOVE that bottom button feature. I do WISH I could lock it by using the bottom button, but prior to this Lexivon, I've never had a tape measure that can do that, so I'm super appreciative of that feature. The unit can also be "paused" but not locked by pushing down on the standard thumb button, and then if you keep pushing on that, you'll hear a click as the unit officially locks the tape in place. That's something else I like. On other tape measures, the unit locks simply by pressing the thumb button down and pressure holds it in place. With this, there's a distinct "click" that lets you KNOW it's locked. The tape is very easy to read (large numbers) with all the 8th-inch fractions indicated along the bottom of the tape. Again, none of the other tapes I've had have those large fractional markings. Another feature unique to this taps is that the backside has measurements, too, both in imperial (inches/feet), and also metric (centimeters). As on the front (top side), all backside measurements are large and easy to read. Finally, there's both a belt clip and a hanging loop, plus the tape itself is nylon coated. The nylon coating removes a lot of glare, and I'm going to assume it will also help preserve the metal tape. The price point on this tape measure is quite reasonable. For all the reasons I've listed above, this has become my favorite measuring tape to use. Definitely five stars. Definitely recommended.

The tape has come lose from the end and the tape has twisted after one use.
Kat Hooper
I'm so impressed with this tape measure. It's heavy-duty, solid as a rock. Easy to read, the tape is strong and seems like it will last forever. Clip for pocket, rubber protective case. I've used many tape measures in my life and this is definitely one of the best. I think it's a great value, too.

Nice features, release button, dual readings and strong tip
Groove Monkey
This is a nice light measuring tape. I especially like the dual locking feature which has a button on the bottom that you can depress for quick applications or the level lock that will hold the tape in place so you can use both hands. the dual sided rule is a nice feature as well. The tape is a bit thin so it is not made for measuring vertically.

I liked the color.

The white side of the tape is a bit hard to read but that just mean I need glasses

The Lexivon tape measure is truly a well thought out design. The numbers are easy to read, and although I don't need the fractional indications, it was a nice add. Having a scale on the bottom of the tape as well is a great idea. The action is smooth and the pause button on the underside of the tape measure is a great idea.
Eric Ollenborger
Like a lot of less expensive tape measures, the tape starts to twist when extended after a month or two of use.
Shirley
It is light weight

Saying goodbye to my old, finger-slicing, fast-retracting, partly rusted, old & crappy tape measure! And HELLLOOO to this baby!Love it.PROS:-wrist strap-firm locking mechanism-slow retract button on the bottom (“speed brake”)-belt hook on the back-rubber edging for easy grip-riveted hook on the end-nylon coated tape measure for flexibilityCONS:-none

Fine tape for the money, The clip is a little iffy. I ended up bending it so we could sliding clip on my jeans easier.* update clip is junk. Works for at home but not recommended on the construction site.
AshMan
Its a tape measure. it Measures stuff. We know that. So what makes this different than any other tape measure? Its simple really, this has easy to read markings on the front and the bag, a lock that actually holds the tape and a bottom hold that allows you to ad some tension to the tape roll. It also has the ability to measure on the back side as its double sided and has catches on both sides so you can measure either way.It has a good smooth action when using it to measure. the tape comes out of the holder nicely and smoothly. However that being said, the spring tension seems a slight bit too tensioned. It flies back with some gusto. Maybe I'm just used to my older more well used tape measure thats probably getting tired, but this thing has some tension on it.Measurements taken were accurate and it works nicely. I can't give this 5 stars only because the amount of pressure needed to use the little button on the bottom to hold it is difficult to keep on for quick measurements. And the belt clip is kind of small and not as easy to clip onto the belt due to the rubberized coating around the tape measure. But I will say I am really liking the Tape itself with the easy to read measurements, takes so much guess work out of it and allows me to work faster by not having to double and triple check and count lines to see what I am measuring.
Aniyah Herman
The product seems very well made and sturdy. Overall I’m very happy with the product
Cesar
Back has inches and centimeters that should be in the front . Very disappointing.
JoeTAZ
This tape measure is OK but it isn't something I'd rely on for frequent use. It's fine to toss in a drawer and pull out every now and then to measure something. But, there are some nice features (and some issues).Pros.There's a brake button on the bottom of the tape measure. Ever have a tape fly back at you when you release it? This button will slow it down and even stop it if you press hard enough. It's also useful to hold the tape in place without using the lock. The fractions are printed on the tape, i.e., 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, etc..The backside of the tape has inches and metric (centimeters). Handy if you need centimeters but very useful if you're holding the tape measure over your head.It has a nice grip and fits nicely in my palm.Cons.Not so much a con as an observation but at first glance you'd think this was a Stanley tape measure because of the black and yellow coloring. For some reason the lock switch has two stops. It stops in the middle but that doesn't seem to do anything. This is called a "Dualock" so I'm guessing that middle position is supposed to do something but it doesn't. It's possible that mine isn't working correctly. If you slide it all the way down it locks the tape like you'd expect it to.Releasing the lock takes a bit of force and when it does release there's a loud click. My gut is telling me that something is going to break in the not too distant future. The hook isn't tight to the tape. It will move out between 1/8 and 1/16 of an inch. For rough measurements this isn't a big deal but if you need an exact measurement you'll have to be sure that the hook is pushed all the way to the tape. The box claims that it has an eight foot standout (the length you can extend the blade before it can't hold its own weight and drops down. I can get seven feet sometimes but no where near eight. That's still not bad for a small tape measure but it doesn't live up to its claim.
Miriam
I ordered a dual measurement inches/metric.Got inches only.RETURNING them.
Ross Gordon
dont love lock mechanism but love how easy color scheme is to read
Alexi cruz
This tape measure is very good and the 8 ft stand out is very useful when trying to square stuff. The only down side is that the faction are small and kind of hard to see
No Drama Mama Llama
I LOVE the brake on the bottom. I can't tell you how many times I have snapped myself with a tape measure because I unlock it and let go. Granted now if I use another one I'm going to not have a brake, and I know I'm going to regret it lol.For efficiency sake I'm not going to repeat all the specifics from the other reviews. This is a super long tape measure (which also makes it a bit heavier) with some great features, like a brake and dual sided measurements, etc. However, I do want to make a clarification as I've seen a couple comments about the hook not being fixed. That is not a flaw.Hook pushed in is for internal measurements, hook extended is for external measurements. It allows the tape measure to take into account the width of the hook. So no, it should not be fixed in place. Also, bananas are considered a berry. There, two random facts in one day. You are welcome.
Ivan Rodriguez
Not too happy about this purchase to be honest. But for the price can't expect more.
Jerry Queen
It is great for work i love it
Gianni Rivers
For the price this is a good deal, the dual lock type is really slick . I routinely mess up reading a tape measure due to not paying close attention to detail, and cutting twice measuring once. Great deal, will buy again when i misplace this one!
Katie Kruger
Great quality, heavy duty. Love the belt hook
mudpie
I like that this measures a full 25 feet instead of the 10 or 12 most other tape measures will. I especially like that it can be pulled out 8 feet before collapsing. Over and over I've pulled it out and consistently it lives up to that claim. I've pulled it out just a bit more and it still held. I really like that the numbers are much larger than most tape measures. As a sign maker, I often have to measure the distance from one object to another vertically along a wall. I had to stand on a ladder, measure, move the ladder, measure, etc. The numbers are large enough and the tape is long enough that I can do all of that while standing on the ground. Forget the ladder.
